15 Caʹnaan became father to Siʹdon,+ his firstborn, and Heth,+ 16 as well as the Jebʹu·site,+ the Amʹor·ite,+ the Girʹga·shite,

16 But they will return here+ in the fourth generation, because the error of the Amʹor·ites has not yet reached its full measure.”+

8 I will go down to rescue them out of the hand of the Egyptians+ and to bring them up out of that land to a land good and spacious, a land flowing with milk and honey,+ the territory of the Caʹnaan·ites, the Hitʹtites, the Amʹor·ites, the Perʹiz·zites, the Hiʹvites, and the Jebʹu·sites.+

7 “When Jehovah your God brings you into the land you are about to enter and take possession of,+ he will also clear away populous nations from before you:+ the Hitʹtites, the Girʹga·shites, the Amʹor·ites,+ the Caʹnaan·ites, the Perʹiz·zites, the Hiʹvites, and the Jebʹu·sites,+ seven nations more populous and mightier than you are.+
