21 They forgot God+ their Savior,

Who did great things in Egypt,+

10 For you have forgotten the God+ of your salvation;

You have failed to remember the Rock+ of your fortress.

That is why you plant beautiful* plantations

And set it with the shoot of a stranger.*

For they make sacrifices* to something worthless,+

And they make men stumble in their ways, the ancient paths,+

To walk on back roads that are not smooth and level,*

14 Israel has forgotten his Maker+ and has built temples,+

And Judah has multiplied fortified cities.+

But I will send fire into his cities,

And it will consume the towers of each one.”+
