25 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because you cleanse the outside of the cup and of the dish,+ but inside they are full of greediness*+ and self-indulgence.+

38 However, the Pharisee was surprised at seeing that he did not first wash* before the dinner.+ 39 But the Lord said to him: “Now you Pharisees, you cleanse the outside of the cup and dish, but inside you are full of greediness and wickedness.+
