2 “Suppose a man or a woman is found among you, in any of your cities that Jehovah your God is giving you, who is practicing what is bad in the eyes of Jehovah your God and violating his covenant,+ 3 and he goes astray and worships other gods and he bows down to them or to the sun or the moon or all the army of the heavens,+ a thing that I have not commanded.+

16 They kept leaving all the commandments of Jehovah their God, and they made metal statues* of two calves+ and a sacred pole,*+ and they bowed down to all the army of the heavens+ and served Baʹal.+

16 So he brought me to the inner courtyard of the house of Jehovah.+ There at the entrance of the temple of Jehovah, between the porch and the altar, were about 25 men with their backs to the temple of Jehovah and their faces to the east; they were bowing down to the sun in the east.+
