10 The boundary went around from Baʹal·ah westward to Mount Seʹir and passed over to the slope of Mount Jeʹa·rim at the north, that is, Chesʹa·lon, and it went down to Beth-sheʹmesh+ and passed over to Timʹnah.+

12 The western boundary was at the Great Sea*+ and its coast. This was the boundary of the descendants of Judah by their families on all sides.

8 Thus the Israelites gave the Levites these cities and their pastures by lot, just as Jehovah had commanded through Moses.+

16 Aʹin+ with its pastures, Jutʹtah+ with its pastures, and Beth-sheʹmesh with its pastures—nine cities out of these two tribes.

18 The Phi·lisʹtines+ also made a raid on the cities of the She·pheʹlah+ and the Negʹeb of Judah and captured Beth-sheʹmesh,+ Aiʹja·lon,+ Ge·deʹroth, Soʹco and its dependent* towns, Timʹnah+ and its dependent towns, and Gimʹzo and its dependent towns; and they settled there.
