1 Now in the days when the judges+ administered justice,* a famine occurred in the land; and a man went from Bethʹle·hem+ in Judah to reside as a foreigner in the fields* of Moʹab,+ he along with his wife and his two sons.

25 So there was a great famine+ in Sa·marʹi·a, and they besieged it until a donkey’s head+ was worth 80 silver pieces, and a fourth of a cab measure* of dove’s droppings was worth 5 silver pieces.
