9 Later on, Jehovah said to Cain: “Where is your brother Abel?” and he said: “I do not know. Am I my brother’s guardian?” 10 At this He said: “What have you done? Listen! Your brother’s blood is crying out to me from the ground.+

5 Besides that, I will demand an accounting for your lifeblood.* I will demand an accounting from every living creature; and from each man I will demand an accounting for the life of his brother.+

24 Jeʹhu took his bow in hand and shot Je·hoʹram between the shoulders, and the arrow came out at his heart, and he collapsed in his war chariot.

26 ‘“As surely as I saw the blood of Naʹboth+ and the blood of his sons yesterday,” declares Jehovah, “I will repay+ you in this very plot of land,” declares Jehovah.’ So now pick him up and throw him into the plot of land, according to the word of Jehovah.”+

3 Surely it was by the order of Jehovah that this happened to Judah, to remove them from his sight+ because of all the sins that Ma·nasʹseh had committed,+ 4 and also the innocent blood that he had shed,+ for he had filled Jerusalem with innocent blood and Jehovah was not willing to forgive.+
