8 Also the pig because it has a split hoof but does not chew the cud. It is unclean for you. You must not eat their flesh or touch their carcasses.

31 And they kept pleading with him not to order them to go away into the abyss.+ 32 Now a large herd of swine+ was feeding there on the mountain, so they pleaded with him to permit them to enter into the swine, and he gave them permission.+ 33 With that the demons came out of the man and went into the swine, and the herd rushed over the precipice* into the lake and drowned. 34 But when the herders saw what had happened, they fled and reported it in the city and in the countryside.
