21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

18 There are still others that are sown among the thorns. These are the ones who have heard the word,+ 19 but the anxieties+ of this system of things* and the deceptive power of riches+ and the desires+ for everything else make inroads and choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.

23 After looking around, Jesus said to his disciples: “How difficult it will be for those with money to enter into the Kingdom of God!”+

14 As for that which fell among the thorns, these are the ones who have heard, but by being carried away by anxieties, riches,+ and pleasures of this life,+ they are completely choked and bring nothing to maturity.+
