29 and they braided a crown out of thorns and put it on his head and put a reed in his right hand. And kneeling before him, they mocked him, saying: “Greetings,* you King of the Jews!”

37 They also posted above his head the charge against him, in writing: “This is Jesus the King of the Jews.”+

38 There was also an inscription over him: “This is the King of the Jews.”+

19 Pilate also wrote a title and put it on the torture stake.* It was written: “Jesus the Naz·a·reneʹ the King of the Jews.”+
