5 Then the people of Jerusalem and all Ju·deʹa and all the country around the Jordan were going out to him,+ 6 and they were baptized* by him in the Jordan River,+ openly confessing their sins.

12 Even tax collectors came to be baptized,+ and they said to him: “Teacher, what should we do?”
