27 Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the governor’s residence and gathered the whole body of troops together around him.+ 28 And disrobing him, they draped him with a scarlet cloak,+ 29 and they braided a crown out of thorns and put it on his head and put a reed in his right hand. And kneeling before him, they mocked him, saying: “Greetings,* you King of the Jews!”
