Jehovah’s rulership promotes true justice (Ps 89:14; w17.06 28 ¶5)

Jehovah’s rulership promotes true joy (Ps 89:15, 16; w17.06 29 ¶10-11)

Jehovah’s rulership will last forever (Ps 89:34-37; w14 10/15 10 ¶14)

Collage: A brother reflecting on Jehovah’s way of ruling in contrast to the world’s. 1. People argue at a political rally. 2. Brothers greet each other warmly at a congregation meeting.

7. Jehovah’s Standards Are Best

(10 min.) Discussion.

Many people view the Bible’s standards on sex and marriage as unreasonable and outdated. Have you proved to yourself that following Jehovah’s standards is always best for you?—Isa 48:17, 18; Ro 12:2.

A scene from the video “Reasons for Faith—God’s Standards Versus My Own.” Hugo and Clara.
  • Why should we not trust the world’s moral standards? (Jer 10:23; 17:9; 2Co 11:13-15; Eph 4:18, 19)

  • Collage: Drawings from the video “Reasons for Faith—God’s Standards Versus My Own.” 1. A tablet displaying the jw.org logo. 2. Hugo reads the Bible on his smartphone while riding the metro. 3. Clara prays.
  • Why should we trust Jehovah’s moral standards? (Joh 3:16; Ro 11:33; Tit 1:2)

The Bible teaches that those who ignore God’s moral laws “will not inherit God’s Kingdom.” (1Co 6:9, 10) But is that the only reason to follow God’s standards?

Play the VIDEO Reasons for Faith—God’s Standards Versus My Own. Then ask the audience:

  • How do God’s moral standards protect us?
