39 Today I am weak, although anointed as king,+ and these men, the sons of Ze·ruʹiah,+ are too brutal for me.+ May Jehovah repay the evildoer according to his own evil.”+

10 But the king said: “What do I have to do with you, you sons of Ze·ruʹiah?+ Let him curse me,+ for Jehovah has said to him,+ ‘Curse David!’ So who should say, ‘Why are you doing this?’”
