42 Je·hoshʹa·phat was 35 years old when he became king, and he reigned for 25 years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was A·zuʹbah the daughter of Shilʹhi.

3 Jehovah continued with Je·hoshʹa·phat because he walked in the former ways of his forefather David+ and did not search for the Baʹals. 4 For he searched for the God of his father+ and followed* his commandment and not the practices of Israel.+

4 Je·hoshʹa·phat continued living in Jerusalem, and he went out again among the people from Beʹer-sheʹba to the mountainous region of Eʹphra·im,+ to bring them back to Jehovah the God of their forefathers.+
