4 and King Zed·e·kiʹah of Judah will not escape from the Chal·deʹans, for he will surely be given into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he will speak to him face-to-face and see him eye to eye.”’+ 5 ‘He will take Zed·e·kiʹah to Babylon, and there he will remain until I turn my attention to him,’ declares Jehovah. ‘Although you keep fighting against the Chal·deʹans, you will not succeed.’”+

12 The chieftain who is among them will carry his belongings on his shoulder and leave in the darkness. He will bore a hole in the wall and carry his belongings out through it.+ He will cover his face so that he cannot see the ground.’ 13 I will cast my net over him, and he will be caught in my hunting net.+ Then I will bring him to Babylon, to the land of the Chal·deʹans, but he will not see it; and there he will die.+

16 “‘“As surely as I am alive,” declares the Sovereign Lord Jehovah, “he will die in Babylon, in the place where the king* who made him* king lives, the one whose oath he despised and whose covenant he broke.+
