2 David then gave orders to bring together the foreign residents+ who were in the land of Israel, and he assigned them to be stonecutters to cut and shape stones for building the house of the true God.+ 3 David also prepared iron in great quantity for nails for the doors of the gates and for clamps, and so much copper that it was beyond weighing,+ 4 and also cedar timbers+ without number, for the Si·doʹni·ans+ and the Tyrʹi·ans+ brought great quantities of cedar timbers to David.
