3 And let the king appoint commissioners in all the provinces* of his realm+ to bring together all the beautiful young virgins to Shuʹshan* the citadel,* to the house of the women.* Let them be put in the care of Hegʹa·i+ the king’s eunuch and guardian of the women, and let them be given beauty treatments.*
