3 The God of Israel spoke;

To me the Rock of Israel+ said:

‘When the one ruling over mankind is righteous,+

Ruling in the fear of God,+

 4 It is like the morning light when the sun shines,+

A morning without clouds.

It is like the brightness after the rain,

Making grass sprout from the earth.’+

15 In the light of the king’s face there is life;

His favor is like a cloud of rain in spring.+

12 The king’s rage is like the growling of a lion,*+

But his favor is like dew on the vegetation.
