8 Their own tongue will cause their downfall;+

All those looking on will shake their head.

14 Those who are wise treasure up knowledge,+

But the mouth of the fool invites ruin.+

21 The lips of the righteous one nourish* many,+

But the foolish die for lack of sense.+

 3 The rod of haughtiness is in the mouth of the fool,

But the lips of the wise will protect them.
