16 Those seeing you will stare at you;

They will closely examine you, saying,

‘Is this the man who was shaking the earth,

Who made kingdoms tremble,+

17 Who made the inhabited earth like the wilderness

And overthrew its cities,+

Who refused to let his prisoners go home?’+

“For your sakes I will send to Babylon and bring down all the bars of the gates,+

And the Chal·deʹans, in their ships, will cry out in distress.+

“Even the captives of a mighty man will be taken away,+

And those captured by the tyrant will be rescued.+

I will oppose those who oppose you,+

And I will save your own sons.
