12 They have harp and stringed instrument,

Tambourine, flute, and wine at their feasts;

But they do not consider the activity of Jehovah,

And they do not see the work of his hands.

12 “Come, let me take some wine,

And let us drink our fill of alcohol.+

6 “Woe to the self-assured* ones in Zion,

To those feeling secure in the mountain of Sa·marʹi·a,+

The prominent men of the foremost of nations,

Those to whom the house of Israel comes!

 4 They lie on beds of ivory+ and sprawl out on couches,+

Eating the rams of the flock and the fattened calves;*+
