20 King Tilʹgath-pil·neʹser+ of As·syrʹi·a eventually came against him and caused him distress+ rather than strengthening him. 21 For Aʹhaz had stripped the house of Jehovah and the house* of the king+ and the houses of the princes and made a gift to the king of As·syrʹi·a; but it was of no help to him. 22 And during his time of distress, King Aʹhaz acted even more unfaithfully toward Jehovah.
