They do not grant justice to the fatherless,*

And the legal case of the widow never reaches them.+

“You have burned down the vineyard,

And what you have stolen from the poor is in your houses.+

“Uphold justice every morning,

And rescue the one being robbed from the hand of the defrauder,+

So that my wrath does not blaze like a fire+

And burn with no one to extinguish it

Because of your evil deeds.”’+

 2 They desire fields and seize them;+

Also houses, and they take them;

They defraud a man of his house,+

A man of his inheritance.
