48 The king then elevated Daniel and gave him many fine gifts, and he made him the ruler over all the province* of Babylon+ and the chief prefect over all the wise men of Babylon. 49 And at Daniel’s request, the king appointed Shaʹdrach, Meʹshach, and A·bedʹne·go+ over the administration of the province* of Babylon, but Daniel served in the king’s court.
