114 When Israel went out of Egypt,+

The house of Jacob from a people speaking a foreign language,

 3 The sea saw it and fled;+

The Jordan turned back.+

Is my hand too short to redeem,

Or is there no power in me to rescue?+

Look! With my rebuke I dry up the sea;+

I make rivers a desert.+

Their fish rot for lack of water,

And they die because of thirst.

 4 He rebukes the sea,+ and he dries it up;

And he makes all the rivers run dry.+

Baʹshan and Carʹmel wither,+

And the blossoms of Lebʹa·non wither.
