24 It was then that the work on the house of God, which was in Jerusalem, came to a halt; and it remained at a standstill until the second year of the reign of King Da·riʹus of Persia.+

1 In the second year of King Da·riʹus, in the sixth month, on the first day of the month, the word of Jehovah came through Hagʹgai*+ the prophet to Ze·rubʹba·bel+ son of She·alʹti·el, the governor of Judah, and to Joshua son of Je·hozʹa·dak, the high priest, saying:

10 On the 24th day of the ninth month, in the second year of Da·riʹus, the word of Jehovah came to Hagʹgai+ the prophet, saying:
