Footnote

b It is true that the Greek Septuagint translation often served as the basis for Hebrew Scripture quotations in the so-called New Testament. Since later copies of the Septuagint do not contain the divine name, many scholars argue that the name should likewise be excluded from the Christian Greek Scriptures. However, the oldest extant copies of the Septuagint contain the name Jehovah in its original Hebrew form. This gives strong support to the use of the name Jehovah in the Greek Scriptures.
