44 For I am Jehovah your God,+ and you must sanctify yourselves and become holy,+ because I am holy.+ So you must not make yourselves* unclean by any swarming creature that moves on the earth.

6 For you are a holy people to Jehovah your God, and Jehovah your God has chosen you to become his people, his special property,* out of all the peoples who are on the face of the earth.+

9 But you are “a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation,+ a people for special possession,+ that you should declare abroad the excellencies”*+ of the One who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.+
