34 Jo·si′ah dey eight years when e start to rule as king, and e rule for Jerusalem for 31 years. 2 E do wetin correct for Jehovah eyes, and e do the things wey David im papa-papa do, e no turn go right or go left.
3 For the 8th year wey e de rule, when e still be boy, e start to find the God of David im papa-papa, and for the 12th year, e start to clean Judah and Jerusalem. E comot the high place* them, the idol poles,* the image them wey them carve, and the image them wey them use metal make.* 4 Another thing be say, them scatter the altars of the idols of Ba′al for im front. E destroy the incense stands wey be dey ontop them. E still pieces the idol poles,* the image them wey them carve, and the image them wey them use metal make,* e grind them to powder, and e scatter-am ontop the graves of people wey be de do sacrifice to them. 5 And e burn the bones of priests ontop their altars. Na so e take clean Judah and Jerusalem.
6 And for the cities of Ma·nas′seh, E′phra·im, Sim′e·on, go reach Naph′ta·li, and the areas wey surround-am wey don scatter, 7 e scatter the altars and e pieces the idol poles,* the image them wey them carve, e grind them to powder; and e destroy all the incense stands for all the land of Israel, after that one, e go back to Jerusalem.
8 For the 18th year wey e de rule, when e don clean the land and the temple,* e send Sha′phan wey be the son of Az·a·li′ah, Ma·a·sei′ah the chief of the city, and Jo′ah the son of Jo′a·haz wey de write the things wey happen, say make them repair the house of Jehovah im God. 9 Them come meet Hil·ki′ah the high priest and give-am the money wey them don bring come the house of God, wey the Levites wey de watch the doors don collect from Ma·nas′seh, E′phra·im, and all the other Israel people and even from Judah, Benjamin, and the people wey de live for Jerusalem. 10 Then, them carry-am give the people wey them don choose to take care of the work for the house of Jehovah, and the workers for the house of Jehovah use-am fix and repair the house. 11 Them give-am to people wey sabi use hand make things, and the builders, to use-am buy stones wey them don cut and timbers wey them go use support the house, so that them go use woods build the house them wey the kings of Judah don allow to spoil.
12 And the men do their work well. The Levites wey them choose to work as overseers to direct them na Ja′hath and O·ba·di′ah wey come from the family of Me·rar′i, and Zech·a·ri′ah and Me·shul′lam wey come from Ko′hath family. And the Levites, wey all of them sabi play music well-well, 13 dey in charge of the ordinary laborers,* and them be overseers of all the people wey de do the work, no matter the kind of work wey them de do; and some of the Levites na secretaries, officers and gatemen.
14 As them de carry the money wey them bring to Jehovah house comot, Hil·ki′ah wey be priest see the book of Jehovah Law wey E use* Moses give im people. 15 So Hil·ki′ah tell Sha′phan wey be secretary say: “I don see the book of the Law for the house of Jehovah.” Then Hil·ki′ah give Sha′phan the book. 16 Then Sha′phan carry the book go give the king and tell-am say: “Your servants de do everything wey them tell them to do. 17 Them don collect the money wey them see for the house of Jehovah and them don carry-am give the men wey them choose to direct the work, and to the people wey de do the work.” 18 Sha′phan wey be secretary still tell the king say: “E get one book wey Hil·ki′ah wey be priest give me.” Then Sha′phan start to read from the book for the king front.
19 As the king just hear wetin them write for the Law, e tear im cloths. 20 Then the king command Hil·ki′ah, A·hi′kam wey be son of Sha′phan, Ab′don the son of Mi′cah, Sha′phan wey be secretary, and A·sai′ah wey be the king servant say: 21 “Make una go ask Jehovah for me and for the people wey remain for Israel and for Judah about the things wey them write for the book wey them see, because the kind vex wey Jehovah go vex for us no be small because our papa-papa them no obey the word of Jehovah, them no follow everything wey them write for this book.”
22 So Hil·ki′ah, and all the people wey the king send, go meet Hul′dah wey be woman prophet. This woman na the wife of Shal′lum wey be the son of Tik′vah the son of Har′has, wey de take care of cloths,* and the woman de stay for the Second Quarter for Jerusalem; and them follow-am talk for there. 23 E tell them say: “This na wetin Jehovah the God of Israel talk, ‘Make una tell the man wey send una to me say: 24 “This na wetin Jehovah talk, ‘I go bring serious trouble for this place and for the people wey de live for there, all the curse wey them write for the book wey them read for front of the king of Judah go happen. 25 As e be say them don leave me and them de make sacrifice them smoke to other gods so that them go make me vex with all the things wey them de do with their hands, I go vex for this place well-well, and nothing go fit stop-am.’” 26 But this na wetin una go tell the king of Judah wey send una come ask Jehovah, “This na wetin Jehovah the God of Israel talk: ‘As for this things wey you don hear, 27 because say them touch your heart* and you carry body down for God front as you hear the things wey e talk about this place and the people wey de live for there, and you bring your body down for my front and you tear your cloths and cry for my front, me too don hear your prayer, na wetin Jehovah talk. 28 Because of this one, I go make you join your papa-papa them,* and them go put you for your grave in peace, and you no go see all the trouble wey I go bring to this place and the people wey de live for there.’”’”
So them come tell the king this message. 29 So the king send message say make them call all the elders for Judah and for Jerusalem. 30 After that one, the king go up go the house of Jehovah with all the men of Judah, the people wey de stay for Jerusalem, the priests, the Levites, all the people whether na big person or na small person. E come read all the words wey dey the book of the agreement wey them don see for the house of Jehovah make them hear-am. 31 The king stand for where e de normally stand and e make agreement for front of Jehovah say e go use all im heart and all im soul* obey Jehovah, and do the things wey e don command, the things wey e de remind im people, and follow im directions, and all the things wey dey for the agreement wey them write for this book. 32 Another thing be say, e encourage all the people for Jerusalem and Benjamin say make them support the agreement, and the people wey de live for Jerusalem do the things wey dey the agreement of God, the God of their papa-papa them. 33 Then Jo·si′ah comot all the serious bad things* from all the lands wey Israel people get and e make everybody for Israel worship Jehovah their God. For all the time wey e dey alive,* them no stop to follow Jehovah the God of their papa-papa them.
