21 “This one na the things wey I don decide say you go tell them:

2 “If you buy slave wey be Hebrew person, e go serve as slave for six years, but for the seventh year, you go free-am and e no go pay anything. 3 If na only-am come, e go go alone. If na husband wey carry wife come, then im wife must go with-am. 4 If im oga give-am wife and the woman born sons or daughters for-am, na the oga go continue to get the woman and im children, and e go go alone. 5 But if the slave no gree and talk say, ‘I love my oga, my wife, and my sons; I no want dey free,’ 6 im oga must bring-am come front of the true God. Then e go bring-am near the door or the frame of the door, and im oga go put hole for im ear with pin wey them de use put hole for something and e go be im slave for life.

7 “If man sell im daughter as slave, the daughter no go go free the same way wey man slave de go. 8 If the woman oga no dey happy with-am and e no make-am im concubine* but e allow another person buy-am,* e no go get the right to sell-am give strangers because e don treat-am for bad way. 9 If e choose the woman for im son as wife, e go give-am the right as daughter. 10 If e marry another wife, make the food, the cloths, and the things wey the man suppose give the first wife for the marriage no reduce. 11 If e no give-am this three things, then the woman dey free to go and the woman no go pay any money.

12 “Anybody wey hit person and e die, them must kill the person. 13 But if e do-am by mistake and the true God allow-am happen, I go show you place wey e fit run go. 14 If person overvex with im neighbor and e open eye kill-am, them must kill the person even if e run go my altar. 15 Them must kill person wey hit* im papa or im mama.

16 “If anybody kidnap person and sell-am or them catch-am with the person wey e kidnap, them must kill that person.

17 “Them must kill anybody wey de curse* im papa or im mama.

18 “This one na wetin go happen if people quarrel and one of them hit the other one with stone or with blow,* and e no die but e no fit get up from bed: 19 If e fit get up and waka round for outside with walking stick, then the person wey hit-am go dey free from punishment. E go only pay for the time wey the person wey injure don lose from im work until e go well finish.

20 “If any man use stick hit im man slave or im slave girl and e die for im hand, them must punish the man. 21 But if the slave survive for one or two days, them no go punish im oga, because the slave na person wey im oga don buy with im money.

22 “If people de struggle with each other and them hit woman wey get belle, and e born the pikin before the time wey e suppose born* but nobody die* from this thing wey happen, the person wey cause the problem must pay anything wey the husband of the woman talk say make e pay for wetin e do; and e must pay-am through the judge them. 23 But if somebody die, then you must give life for life,* 24 eye for eye, teeth for teeth, hand for hand, leg for leg, 25 burn for burn, wound for wound, blow for blow.

26 “If any man hit the eye of im man slave or im slave girl and e blind-am, e go allow the slave go free as payment for im eye. 27 And if e nack the teeth of im man slave or im slave girl comot, e go allow the slave go free as payment for im teeth.

28 “If bull use im horn attack man or woman and the person die, them must stone the bull till e die and them no go chop im meat; but the person wey get the bull dey free from punishment. 29 But if bull de always use horn attack people and them don warn the person wey get-am but e no want control the bull and the bull kill man or woman, them go stone the bull and them go still kill the person wey get-am. 30 If them say make e pay for wetin don happen, e must pay everything wey them talk say make e pay as price for im life.* 31 Whether e use horn attack person son or daughter, them go do this thing to the person wey get the bull according to this thing wey I don decide. 32 If the bull use horn attack man slave or slave girl, the person wey get-am go pay 30 shekels* to the oga of the slave, and them go stone the bull till e die.

33 “If person open or e dig pit and e no cover-am and bull or donkey fall for inside, 34 the person wey get the pit go pay for wetin happen. E go pay the person wey get the animal, and take the animal wey don die as im own. 35 If person bull wound another person bull and the bull die, then them must sell the bull wey dey alive and divide the money wey them use sell-am; them go still divide the animal wey don die. 36 Or if e be say people know say the bull de always use horn attack people but the person wey get-am no want control-am, e must use bull pay for bull, and the one wey don die go be im own.
