Deuteronomy

24 “If man marry woman but e no like-am again because e see something wey no good about the woman, e must write certificate of divorce for the woman, give-am to the woman, and tell-am make e comot from im house. 2 After the woman comot from im house, the woman fit go be another man wife. 3 If the second man hate-am* and write certificate of divorce for-am, e give-am to-am, and tell-am make e comot from im house, or if the second man wey e marry die, 4 them no go allow im first husband wey tell-am make e go to take-am back again as im wife, since the woman no clean, because that one na serious bad thing to Jehovah. Make you no bring sin come inside the land wey Jehovah your God de give you as property.

5 “When man just marry, make e no serve for army or make them no give-am any other work to do. Make e no do this things for one year, instead e go stay for house and e go make im wife happy.

6 “Make nobody seize the grinding stone or the top part of the grinding stone as something to keep for wetin person borrow, because that one go be say you don take wetin the person de use survive* as something to keep for wetin the person borrow from you.

7 “If una see person wey kidnap one* of im brother for Israel and e treat-am for bad way and e sell-am, the kidnapper must die. Make una remove bad thing from among una.

14 “Person wey you hire to work for you wey no get wetin e need and wey dey poor, make you no play-am wayo whether na one of your brothers or stranger wey de live for your land, for inside your cities.* 15 Make you pay-am that same day, before sun go down, because e no get wetin e need and na im pay de help-am* survive. If you no do like that, e go cry to Jehovah because of you, and sin go dey your head.

17 “Make you no ever bend the judgment of stranger wey de live for the land or of pikin wey no get papa,* and make you no ever seize the cloth of widow as proof say e go pay wetin e borrow from you. 18 Remember say you be slave for Egypt before, and Jehovah your God buy you back from there. Na because of this one I de command you to do this thing.

19 “When you harvest things from your farm and you forget bundle of any of this things wey you harvest for the farm, make you no go back to collect-am. Leave-am for the stranger wey de live for the land, for pikin wey no get papa, and for widow, so that Jehovah your God fit bless you for everything wey you de do.

20 “When you nack your olive tree, make you no nack the branches too. Wetin remain go be for the stranger wey de live for the land, for pikin wey no get papa, and for widow.

21 “When you gather the grapes wey dey your vine farm, make you no go back go gather the ones wey remain. Make you leave them for the stranger wey de live for the land, for pikin wey no get papa, and for the widow. 22 Remember say you be slave for the land of Egypt before. Na because of this one I de command you to do this thing.
