Ecclesiastes

12 Then, make you remember your Great Creator when you dey young, before the days of trouble* come, and the years reach when you go talk say: “Them no sweet me”; 2 before the sun, the light, the moon, and the stars go dark, and clouds go go back after rain don fall;* 3 for the day wey the people wey de guard* the house don de shake,* and the strong men don bend, and the women don stop to grind something because them no plenty again, and the ladies wey dey the windows de look outside de see darkness; 4 when them don close the doors wey them de pass go the streets, when the sound of grinding stone don low, when person de get up because of the sound wey bird de make, and all the women wey de sing* don weak. 5 Another thing be say, person de fear place wey high, and fear-fear dey for the street. And the almond tree de bring out flowers, and the grasshopper de drag imself de waka, and the caper berry fruit don burst, because person de waka go im house wey go last and the people wey de mourn de waka up and down for the street; 6 before them remove the silver rope, and them scatter the golden bowl, and the water pot wey dey the place wey water de come out from don break, and them scatter the waterwheel wey dey the well. 7 Then the sand go go back to the ground, just as e be before, and the spirit* go go back to the true God wey give-am to people.

8 “The thing wey useless pass!”* na so the person wey de gather people together talk-am. “Everything dey useless.”

9 No be only say the person wey de gather people together don get sense, but e continue to teach the people wetin e know, and e think well and settle down check well so that e go fit gather plenty proverbs together.* 10 The person wey de gather people together try im best to look for sweet words and to record correct words wey be truth.

11 The words of person wey get sense be like rods wey get sharp mouth,* and the things wey them talk, wey them don gather together be like nails wey them really nack enter well; na from one shepherd this things come from. 12 My son, as for anything apart from this ones, make you take this warning: People no go stop to write* plenty books, and to de put all your heart for them de make body tire person.

13 After everything wey una don hear, the main point of the matter na: Fear the true God and obey im commandments, because this one na everything wey man suppose do. 14 Because the true God go judge everything wey people de do, plus everything wey them de hide, to check-am whether e good or bad.
