Deuteronomy 3:1-29

Deuteronomy

3 “Then we turn and follow Ba′shan Road go up. And Og, the king of Ba′shan, come out with all im people to meet and fight us for Ed′re·i. 2 So Jehovah tell me say, ‘No fear-am because I go put-am together with all im people and im land for your hand, and you go do-am the same thing wey you do Si′hon the king of Am′or·ite people wey live for Hesh′bon.’ 3 So Jehovah our God still put King Og of Ba′shan and all im people for our hand and we continue to strike-am until nobody among im people survive. 4 Then we take over all im cities. No town dey wey we no collect from them—60 cities, all the area of Ar′gob, wey be the kingdom of Og for Ba′shan. 5 All this cities get strong protection with high walls, gates, and bars, together with plenty-plenty towns wey no get walls. 6 But, we destroy them just as we be do to King Si′hon of Hesh′bon, as we destroy all the cities together with men, women, and children. 7 And we collect all the animals and the things for the cities for ourself.

8 “That time we take over the land of the two Am′or·ite kings wey be dey for the area of River Jordan, from the Lowland of Ar′non* go reach Mount Her′mon 9 (the mountain wey Siʹdon people be de call Sir′i·on and Am′or·ite people be de call Se′nir), 10 all the cities of the flat land,* all Gil′e·ad, and all Ba′shan go reach Sal′e·cah and Ed′re·i, the cities of the kingdom wey be Og own for Ba′shan. 11 King Og of Ba′shan na the last one of Reph′a·im people wey remain. Them make im stretcher* with iron,* and e still dey for Rab′bah wey be city of Am′mon people. E long reach nine cubits* and wide reach four cubits, according to the normal cubit wey them de use measure. 12 That time, we take this land as our own, wey start from A·ro′er, wey dey near the Lowland of Ar′non,* and half of the area wey mountains dey for Gil′e·ad, and I don give the cities for there to the tribe of Reu′ben and the tribe of Gad. 13 I don give the rest of Gil′e·ad and all Ba′shan wey dey the kingdom of Og to the half tribe of Ma·nas′seh. Them know all the area of Ar′gob, wey dey for Ba′shan, as the land of Reph′a·im people.

14 “Ja′ir the son of Ma·nas′seh collect all the area of Ar′gob go reach the boundary of Gesh′ur people and Maʹa·cath people and e use im name call the villages of Ba′shan wey be, Hav′voth-ja′ir,* come reach today. 15 And I don give Gil′e·ad to Ma′chir. 16 And to the tribe of Reu′ben and the tribe of Gad, I don give them from Gil′e·ad go reach the Lowland of Ar′non,* and the middle of the lowland as boundary, go reach Jab′bok, the lowland wey be the boundary of Am′mon people, 17 and go reach the Ar′a·bah and River Jordan with im boundary, from Chin′ne·reth go reach the Sea of Ar′a·bah, wey be the Salt Sea,* wey dey the down part of the hills of Pis′gah for the east side.

18 “Then I give una this command: ‘Jehovah una God don give una this land to take as una own. All una men wey no de fear go carry weapons and cross go the other side for front of una brothers wey be Israel people. 19 Na only una wives, una children, and una animals (I know say una get plenty-plenty animals) go continue to live for the cities wey I don give una, 20 until Jehovah don make una brothers to get rest as e do for una, and until them still don take the land wey Jehovah una God go give them as their property for the other side of River Jordan. Then each of una go come back to im property wey I don give una.’

21 “That time I give this command to Joshua say: ‘You don see with your own eyes wetin Jehovah una God don do to this two kings. Jehovah go do the same thing to all the kingdoms wey you go cross enter. 22 Make una no fear them because na Jehovah una God de fight for una.’

23 “That time I beg Jehovah say, 24 ‘O Jehovah, the Lord Wey High Pass, you don start to show your servant how you big reach and how your hand strong reach, because which god for the heavens or for earth fit do this kind powerful things like you? 25 Abeg allow me pass and see the good land wey dey the other side of River Jordan, this better area wey mountains dey and Leb′a·non.’ 26 But Jehovah still de vex for me because of una, and e no gree listen to me. Instead, Jehovah tell me say, ‘E don do for you! No ever talk to me again about this matter. 27 Go up to the top-top part of Pis′gah, and look the west, the north, the south, and the east side of the land and see with your eyes, because you no go cross this River Jordan. 28 Make Joshua leader and encourage-am and give-am power, because na im be the person wey go cross River Jordan for front of this people and na im be the person wey go make them inherit the land wey you go see.’ 29 All this things happen when we de live for the lowland for front of Beth-pe′or.
