The Second Book of Samuel
9 Then David talk say: “Anybody still dey for the house of Saul wey I fit show love wey no de fail because of Jon′a·than?” 2 Now, one servant dey for the house of Saul wey im name na Zi′ba. So them call-am make e go meet David. And the king ask-am say: “Na you be Zi′ba?” E answer-am say: “I be your servant.” 3 The king still ask-am say: “Anybody remain for the house of Saul wey I fit show God love wey no de fail?” Zi′ba answer the king say: “One son of Jon′a·than still dey. E no fit waka with im two legs.” 4 The king ask-am say: “Where e dey?” Zi′ba answer the king say: “E dey for the house of Ma′chir wey be the son of Am′mi·el for Lo-de′bar.”
5 Quick-quick, King David talk say make them go call-am come, and them bring-am from the house of Ma′chir the son of Am′mi·el for Lo-de′bar. 6 When Me·phib′o·sheth the son of Jon′a·than, the son of Saul come meet David, at once e kneel down face ground and lie down for ground. Then David talk say: “Me·phib′o·sheth!” E answer say: “Na your servant be this.” 7 David tell-am say: “Make you no fear. I go surely show you love wey no de fail because of your papa Jon′a·than. I go give you back the land of your grandpapa wey be Saul, and you go always chop food* for my table.”
8 So e bow down and talk say: “Who your servant be, wey you de think about* me, me wey be like dog wey don die?” 9 The king send message to Zi′ba wey be Saul servant and tell-am say: “Everything wey be Saul and im family* own, I de give-am back to the grandpikin of your oga. 10 You and your sons and your servants go work the land for-am, and you go gather the food wey e go produce, so that people wey dey the family of your oga grandpikin go see food chop. But Me·phib′o·sheth the grandpikin of your oga go always de chop for my table.”
Zi′ba get 15 sons and 20 servants. 11 Then Zi′ba tell the king say: “Your servant go do all the things wey my lord the king command im servant make e do.” So Me·phib′o·sheth start to chop for David* table like one of the sons of the king. 12 That time, Me·phib′o·sheth get one young son wey im name na Mi′ca; all the people wey de live for Zi′ba house come be servant of Me·phib′o·sheth. 13 Me·phib′o·sheth come de live for Jerusalem, because e de always chop for the king table; and e no fit waka with im two legs.
