Deuteronomy
2 “Then we turn and comot go the wilderness to follow the road of the Red Sea just as Jehovah don tell me, and we travel for plenty days around Mount Se′ir. 2 At last, Jehovah tell me say, 3 ‘The time wey una don go round this mountain don long reach. Now make una turn face north. 4 And command the people say: “Una go pass near the boundary of una brothers, the children-children of E′sau, wey de live for Se′ir, and them go fear una, and make una dey very careful. 5 Make una no start fight with* them because I no go give una any of their land, even space to put leg I no go give una, because I don give Mount Se′ir to E′sau as im property. 6 Make una give them money for the food wey una go chop and make una pay for the water wey una go drink. 7 Because Jehovah your God don bless you for everything wey you don do. E really know how you don waka for this great wilderness. Jehovah your God don dey with you this 40 years, and you no lack anything.”’ 8 So we pass near our brothers, the children-children of E′sau, wey de live for Se′ir, we no follow Ar′a·bah road, E′lath and E′zi·on-ge′ber.
“The next thing wey we do be say we turn and travel follow the road of the wilderness of Mo′ab. 9 Then Jehovah tell me say, ‘Make you no start fight or war with Mo′ab, because I no go give you any of im land as property because I don give Ar as property to the children-children of Lot. 10 (E′mim people dey there before, people wey strong and plenty and tall like An′a·kim people. 11 Them still de see Reph′a·im people as An′a·kim people, and Mo′ab people be de call them E′mim people. 12 Before-before, na Hor′ite people de live for Se′ir, but the children-children of E′sau take over the land and destroy them and start to live for their place, just as Israel people go still do for the land wey be their own wey Jehovah go surely give them.) 13 Now go cross the Lowland* of Ze′red.’ So we cross the Lowland* of Ze′red. 14 The time wey e take us to waka from Ka′desh-bar′ne·a until we cross the Lowland* of Ze′red na 38 years, until the whole generation of the men wey fit fight war don die finish from the camp, just as Jehovah be swear to them. 15 Jehovah hand be dey against them to destroy them from the camp until them don die finish.
16 “Just after all the men wey fit fight war don die finish from among the people, 17 Jehovah talk to me again say, 18 ‘Today you go pass the area wey Mo′ab dey, wey be, Ar. 19 When you come near the place wey Am′mon people dey, make you no trouble or provoke them because I no go give you any of the land wey Am′mon people get as your property, because I don give-am to the children-children of Lot as their property. 20 Them be still de see this land as the land of Reph′a·im people. (Before, Reph′a·im people de live for there and Am′mon people be de call them Zam·zum′mim. 21 Them dey strong and plenty and them be tall people like An′a·kim people; but Jehovah destroy them finish for front of Am′mon people, and Am′mon people drive them comot and start to stay for their place. 22 That one na wetin e do for the children-children of E′sau wey de live for Se′ir now, when e destroy Hor′ite people from their front, so that them fit collect their land and live for their place come reach this day. 23 As for Av′vim people, them be don live for the villages wey far go reach Gaz′a until Caph′tor people wey come from Caph′tor* destroy them, and start to live for their place.)
24 “‘Make una get up and cross the Lowland of Ar′non.* See, I don put Si′hon the Am′or·ite person wey be king of Hesh′bon for una hand. So make una start to take im land as una property, and fight with-am. 25 Today I go start to make all the people under heaven wey de hear the news about una to de shake and de fear una. Them go really worry and go shake with fear* because of una.’
26 “Then I send messengers from the wilderness of Ked′e·moth to King Si′hon of Hesh′bon, make them tell-am this message of peace say, 27 ‘Allow me pass inside your land. I go only dey for the road and I no go turn right or left. 28 I go only chop the food and drink only the water wey you go sell for me. Just allow me use leg waka pass 29 —that na wetin the children-children of E′sau wey de live for Se′ir and Mo′ab people wey de live for Ar do for me—until I cross River Jordan enter inside the land wey Jehovah our God de give us.’ 30 But King Si′hon of Hesh′bon no allow us pass, because Jehovah your God allow-am* to dey stubborn and allow im heart to dey strong, so that e go put-am for una hand as e de happen now.
31 “Then Jehovah tell me say, ‘See, I don already start to give Si′hon and im land to you. Start to take im land as your property.’ 32 When Si′hon come out together with all im people to fight us for Ja′haz, 33 Jehovah our God put-am for our hand wey make us win-am together with im sons and all im people. 34 We take over all im cities that time and destroy all the cities together with men, women, and children. We no leave anybody to dey alive. 35 We pack only the animals for ourselves together with the things from the cities wey we don take over. 36 From A·ro′er, wey dey the edge of the Lowland of Ar′non* (both the city wey dey the lowland), go reach Gil′e·ad, e no get any town wey too strong for us.* Jehovah our God put all of them for our hand. 37 But you no near the land of Am′mon people, all the side of the Lowland* of Jab′bok and the cities wey dey the areas wey mountains dey, or any other place wey Jehovah our God command us make we no near.
