17 Now E·li′jah* wey be Tish′beh person wey de live for Gil′e·ad, tell A′hab say: “As Jehovah the God of Israel wey I de serve* dey alive, dew no go dey and rain no go fall for some years except I talk-am!”
2 Jehovah tell-am say: 3 “Comot from here, make you go the east side and hide for the Lowland of Che′rith,* for the east of River Jordan. 4 Make you drink from the water from the stream, and I go command the birds wey be ravens to give you food for there.” 5 Quick-quick, e comot go do wetin Jehovah talk. E go stay for the Lowland of Che′rith,* for the east of River Jordan. 6 And the birds wey be raven de bring bread and meat for-am for morning, and bread and meat for evening, and e de drink water from the stream. 7 But after some days, the stream come dry, because rain no fall for the land.
8 Then Jehovah tell-am say: 9 “Make you stand up, go Zar′e·phath wey dey for Si′don, and make you stay there. See! I go command one widow for there to de give you food.” 10 So e comot go Zar′e·phath. When e reach where them de enter the city, e see one widow for there wey de gather pieces of wood. So e call-am and tell-am say: “Abeg, bring small water for me inside cup make I drink.” 11 As the woman de go bring-am, e call-am and tell-am say: “Abeg, make you bring small bread join-am as you de come.” 12 So the woman tell-am say: “As Jehovah your God dey alive, I no get bread, na only small flour I get for the big container and small oil for the small container. Now I de gather this small pieces of wood, then I go enter and make something wey me and my son go chop. After we don chop, we go die.”
13 Then E·li′jah tell-am say: “Make you no fear. Make you enter and do as you talk. But make you first make small round bread for me with wetin dey there, and bring-am come give me, then after, you fit make something wey you and your son go chop. 14 Because this na wetin Jehovah the God of Israel talk: ‘The big container of flour no go finish, and the small container of oil no go dry, until the day wey Jehovah go make rain fall for ground.’” 15 So e comot go do as E·li′jah talk. Na so the woman and im family with E·li′jah see food chop for many days. 16 The big container of flour no finish, and the small container of oil no dry, just as Jehovah don use E·li′jah talk.
17 After this things don happen, the son of the woman wey get the house come sick, and the sickness serious sotey the pikin come die.* 18 So the woman ask E·li′jah say: “Wetin I do you,* O man of the true God? You come here to come remind me of my sin and to kill my son?” 19 But e tell-am say: “Carry your son give me.” Then e collect the son from the woman hand and carry-am go up for the room wey e de stay, wey dey the roof of the house, and e put the pikin ontop im own bed. 20 Then e call Jehovah and talk say: “O Jehovah my God, you go still allow this widow wey I de stay for im house suffer this kind problem, as you gree make im son die?” 21 Then e stretch imself ontop the pikin three times, and call Jehovah and talk say: “O Jehovah my God, abeg, make the life* of this pikin come back to-am.” 22 Jehovah listen to E·li′jah prayer, and the life* of the pikin come back to-am and e start to breathe again.* 23 So E·li′jah take the pikin and bring-am down from the room wey dey the roof of the house enter inside the house, and e carry the pikin give im mama, and E·li′jah talk say: “See, your son dey alive.” 24 So the woman tell E·li′jah say: “Na now I know say true-true, you be man of God, and say the word of Jehovah wey dey your mouth na true.”
