Deuteronomy
21 “If you see person wey them kill for bush for the land wey Jehovah your God de give you to take as your own, and you no know who kill-am, 2 make your elders and judges go outside and measure the distance from the dead body to the cities wey dey around-am. 3 Then the elders of the city wey near the body pass go take from among the animals, one young cow wey them never use do work, wey never drag any load* before, 4 and the elders of that city go take the young cow go down to the lowland* wey get water wey de flow and where them never prepare the soil or plant seed before, and them go break the neck of the young cow for there for the lowland.
5 “And the priests wey be the Levites, go come because Jehovah your God don choose them to work for-am, to use Jehovah name bless the people. Them go talk how to settle any matter wey concern person wey them attack. 6 Then make all the elders of the city wey near the dead body pass wash their hands ontop the young cow wey them break im neck for the lowland, 7 and make them talk say, ‘No be we kill this person,* and we no see when e happen. 8 No hold your people Israel wey you don save for this thing wey happen, O Jehovah, and make you no allow sin remain ontop your people Israel because of the blood of innocent person.’ Then God no go hold them for the blood of that person. 9 If you do this one, you go remove the blood of innocent person from ontop the people because you do wetin correct for Jehovah eyes.
10 “If you go fight war with your enemies and Jehovah your God win them for you and you carry them comot, 11 and you see fine woman among the people wey you carry and you like-am and you want take-am as your wife, 12 you fit bring the woman come your house, then the woman go shave im head, e go care for im nails, 13 and e go remove the cloth wey e wear when una catch-am and e go stay for your house. The woman go cry for im papa and im mama for one full month and after, you fit sleep with-am. You go be im husband and e go be your wife. 14 But if you no like the woman, then you fit allow-am comot go any place wey e want go.* But you no fit sell-am to get money or treat-am for harsh way, since you don disgrace-am.
15 “If man get two wives and e love one pass the other one* and the two of them born sons for the man and na the woman wey the man no love born the first son, 16 for the day wey e go give im property to im sons, them no go allow-am treat the son of the woman wey e love as im firstborn instead of the son of the woman wey e no love, wey be the firstborn. 17 Make e treat the son of the wife wey e no love as firstborn as e go give-am times two of everything wey e get, because that son na the first pikin wey e born.* Na im get the right of firstborn.
18 “If man get son wey stubborn and wey no get respect and e no de obey im papa or im mama, and them don try to correct-am but e no gree listen to them, 19 make im papa and im mama hold-am and carry-am go meet the elders for the gate of im city 20 and tell the elders of im city say, ‘This our son dey stubborn, e no de show respect and e no de gree obey us. E de overchop and na drunkard.’ 21 Then all the men of im city must stone-am till e die. So una must remove wetin bad from among the people, and all Israel go hear and fear.
22 “If person commit sin wey them suppose kill-am for and them don kill-am and you don hang-am ontop pole, 23 make im dead body no dey ontop the pole for the whole night. Instead, make you make sure say you bury-am that day because the person wey them hang for pole na something wey God don curse, and make you no spoil your land wey Jehovah your God de give you as property.
