10 As soon as King A·do′ni-ze′dek of Jerusalem hear say Joshua don take over A′i and destroy-am, say wetin e do to A′i and im king na the same thing wey e do Jer′i·cho and im king, and how the people wey de live for Gib′e·on don make peace with Israel and continue to dey among them, 2 this one worry-am no be small because Gib′e·on na big city, like one of the cities of kings. E big pass A′i, and all the men for there sabi fight. 3 So A·do′ni-ze′dek king of Jerusalem send this message go meet Ho′ham king of Heb′ron, Pi′ram king of Jar′muth, Ja·phi′a king of La′chish, and De′bir king of Eg′lon, say: 4 “Make una come help me, make we attack Gib′e·on, because e don make peace with Joshua and Israel people.” 5 So the five kings of Am′or·ite people—the king of Jerusalem, the king of Heb′ron, the king of Jar′muth, the king of La′chish, and the king of Eg′lon—gather together with their armies and them march go surround Gib′e·on to fight against-am.

6 Then the men of Gib′e·on send message to Joshua for the camp wey dey Gil′gal say: “Make you no abandon* your slaves. Come quick-quick! Come save us and help us! All the kings of Am′or·ite people from the area wey mountains dey don gather against us.” 7 So from Gil′gal, Joshua go up with all the men wey fit fight and the strong soldiers.

8 Then Jehovah tell Joshua say: “Make you no fear them, because I don put them for your hand. Nobody among them go fit stand against you.” 9 Joshua attack them by surprise after e don march for the whole night from Gil′gal. 10 Jehovah make them confuse for front of Israel people, and them kill them well-well for Gib′e·on, them pursue them for the road wey go up to Beth-ho′ron and them kill them go reach A·ze′kah and Mak·ke′dah. 11 As them de run from Israel people and de come down from Beth-ho′ron, Jehovah make big-big ice block de fall from the sky ontop them go reach A·ze′kah, and them die. The truth be say, the ice block kill plenty people pass the ones wey Israel people kill with sword.

12 So na that time, for the day wey Jehovah win Am′or·ite people for front of Israel people, na im Joshua tell Jehovah for front of Israel people say:

13 So the sun no move and the moon no move until the nation don win their enemies. Them no write-am for the book of Ja′shar? The sun no move from the middle of the sky and e no quick go down for almost one full day. 14 No day don ever be like that one, whether before that day or after that day, when Jehovah listen to the voice of man, because Jehovah de fight for Israel.

15 After that one, Joshua and all Israel people go back to the camp for Gil′gal.

16 As this one de happen, the five kings don run go hide for the cave wey dey Mak·ke′dah. 17 Then, them come tell Joshua say: “We don see the five kings wey hide for the cave wey dey Mak·ke′dah.” 18 So Joshua talk say: “Roll big stones cover the mouth of the cave and put men to watch them. 19 But make the rest of una no stop. Make una pursue una enemies and attack them from back. Make una no allow them enter inside their cities, because Jehovah una God don put them for una hand.”

20 After Joshua and Israel people don kill them well-well sotey them almost kill all of them finish, except for some of them wey escape and run go cities wey get strong protection, 21 all the people go back go meet Joshua for the camp wey dey Mak·ke′dah, and nothing do them. Nobody try-am say e want talk anything* against Israel people. 22 Then Joshua talk say: “Open the cave and bring the five kings come out from the cave come meet me.” 23 So them bring this five kings from the cave come meet-am: the king of Jerusalem, the king of Heb′ron, the king of Jar′muth, the king of La′chish, and the king of Eg′lon. 24 When them bring this kings come meet Joshua, e call all the men of Israel and tell the commanders of the men wey de fight, wey be go fight with-am say: “Come front. Make una put una legs ontop the backs of the necks of this kings.” So them come front and put their legs ontop the backs of the necks of the kings. 25 Then Joshua tell them say: “Make una no fear or shake. Get strong heart and dey strong, because this one na wetin Jehovah go do all una enemies wey una de fight with.”

26 Then Joshua kill them and hang them ontop five poles,* and them leave them for the poles till evening. 27 When sun don go down, Joshua command them make them bring them come down from the poles and throw them inside the caves where them be hide theirself. Then, them put big stones for the mouth of the cave, and na there them dey come reach today.

28 Joshua take over Mak·ke′dah that day and destroy-am with sword. E kill the king and everybody.* E no allow anybody survive. E do the king of Mak·ke′dah just as e do the king of Jer′i·cho.

29 Then Joshua together with all Israel people comot from Mak·ke′dah go Lib′nah and them fight against Lib′nah. 30 Jehovah still put Lib′nah and im king for Israel hand, and them use sword destroy-am and everybody* for there. Them no allow anybody survive. Them do the king of Lib′nah just as them do the king of Jer′i·cho.

31 After that one, Joshua together with all Israel people comot from Lib′nah go La′chish, them put their camp for there and them fight against-am. 32 Jehovah put La′chish for Israel hand and them take over-am for the second day. Them use sword attack-am and kill everybody* for there, just as them do Lib′nah.

33 Then Ho′ram wey be king of Ge′zer comot go up to help La′chish, but Joshua kill-am and im people sotey nobody survive.

34 Then Joshua together with all Israel people comot from La′chish go Eg′lon and put their camp for there and fight against-am. 35 Them take over-am that day and attack-am with sword. Them kill everybody* for there that day, just as them do La′chish.

36 Then Joshua together with all Israel people comot from Eg′lon go up to Heb′ron and them fight against-am. 37 Them take over-am and use sword attack-am, the king, the towns, and everybody* for there, them no allow anybody survive. Joshua destroy-am and kill everybody* for there, just as e do Eg′lon.

38 At last, Joshua together with all Israel people turn face De′bir and fight against-am. 39 E take over-am, e use sword attack the king and all the towns, them kill everybody* for there, them no allow anybody survive. E do De′bir and the king just as e do Heb′ron and Lib′nah and im king.

40 Joshua win all the land for the area wey mountains dey, the Neg′eb, the She·phe′lah, and the hills, and all their kings, e no allow anybody survive; e kill everybody* just as Jehovah the God of Israel don command. 41 Joshua win them from Ka′desh-bar′ne·a go reach Gaz′a and all the land of Go′shen go up reach Gib′e·on. 42 Joshua win all this kings and take over their land. E do all this one the same time, because na Jehovah the God of Israel de fight for Israel. 43 Then Joshua and all Israel people go back to the camp for Gil′gal.
