Exodus

19 For the third month after Israel people come out from the land of Egypt, for the same day, them reach the wilderness of Si′nai. 2 Them comot from Reph′i·dim and reach the wilderness of Si′nai and stay for the wilderness. Israel stay there for front of the mountain.

3 Then Moses go up for the mountain go meet the true God, and Jehovah talk to-am from the mountain say: “This one na wetin you go tell the family of Jacob and Israel people, 4 ‘Una don see wetin I do Egypt people, so that I fit carry una the way eagles de carry their pikin ontop wings and bring una come my side. 5 Now, if una go obey everything wey I talk and keep my agreement, una go surely be my special property* from all the groups of people, because the whole earth na my own. 6 Una go be priests wey de rule as kings* and be holy nation for me.’ This one na wetin you go tell Israel people.”

7 So Moses comot and call the elders of the people and tell them all this things wey Jehovah don command-am. 8 After that one, all the people answer together say: “All the things wey Jehovah don talk, we dey ready to do-am.” Quick-quick, Moses go tell Jehovah wetin the people talk. 9 And Jehovah tell Moses say: “See! I de come meet you for inside dark cloud, so that the people fit hear when I de talk with you and so that them fit always trust* you too.” Then Moses tell Jehovah the things wey the people talk.

10 Then Jehovah tell Moses say: “Go meet the people and prepare them to dey holy today and tomorrow, and them must wash their cloths. 11 And them must ready for the third day, because for the third day Jehovah go come down ontop Mount Si′nai for front of all the people. 12 Make you put boundaries for the people round the mountain and tell them say, ‘Make una dey careful so that una no go go up of the mountain or touch the side. Them go surely kill anybody wey touch the mountain. 13 Make nobody touch the person, but make them stone-am or shoot-am.* Whether na animal or man, e go die.’ But the people fit come near the mountain when them hear the sound of the ram horn.”

14 Then Moses come down from the mountain go meet the people, and e start to prepare the people to dey holy, and them wash their cloths. 15 E tell the people say: “Make una ready for the third day. Make una no put hand for sex.”*

16 For morning for the third day, thunder and thunder light strike, and thick cloud appear ontop the mountain and them hear sound of horn wey really loud, and all the people for the camp start to fear. 17 So Moses bring the people come out from the camp to meet the true God, and them gather near the mountain. 18 Smoke full everywhere for Mount Si′nai, because Jehovah come down ontop-am for inside fire. And the smoke for the mountain start to go up like the smoke from big oven, and the whole mountain de shake no be small. 19 As the sound of the horn de loud more-more, Moses talk, and the true God* answer-am.

20 So Jehovah come down to Mount Si′nai for the top of the mountain. Then Jehovah call Moses come the top of the mountain, and Moses go up. 21 So Jehovah tell Moses say: “Go down and warn the people say make them no try to force theirself come look Jehovah, or many of them go die. 22 And make the priests wey de always come near Jehovah make theirself clean, so that Jehovah no go strike* them.” 23 Then Moses tell Jehovah say: “The people no fit come up to Mount Si′nai because you don already warn us say, ‘Put boundaries around the mountain, and make-am dey holy.’” 24 But Jehovah tell-am say: “Go, go down, and come up again, you and Aaron with you. But no allow the priests and the people force theirself come up to Jehovah, so that e no go strike them.” 25 So Moses go down go meet the people and tell them.
