The Song of Solomon

Wey suck my mama breasts!
Then if I see you for outside, I go kiss you,
And nobody go judge me.
2 I go carry you go;

The person wey teach me.

Fresh juice of pomegranate fruits.
3 Im left hand go dey under my head,
And im right hand go hug me.
4 I want make una swear, O daughters of Jerusalem:
Make una no try to wake the love inside me or make-am hungry me until e come by imself.”
5 “Who be this person wey de come up from the wilderness,
Wey de rest ontop im dear one?”
“I wake you under the apple tree.
Na there your mama dey when e dey labor to born you.
Na there the person wey born you dey when e dey for labor.
6 Put me like stamp* for your heart,
Like stamp* for your hand,
Because love strong just like death,
And strong love no de gree leave person like Grave.*
Im fire wey de burn na strong fire, the fire of Jah.*
7 Plenty water wey de rush no fit quench love,
Even rivers no fit wash-am comot.
If person give all the property for im house because of love,
Them go really hate this thing* no be small.”
8 “We get one small sister,
And e no get breasts.
Wetin we go do for our sister
For the day wey them want come marry-am?”
9 “If na wall e be,
We go build small silver wall ontop-am,
But if na door e be,
We go use cedar plank block-am.”
10 “I be wall,
And my breasts be like towers.
So for im eyes I don be
Like person wey get peace.
11 Solʹo·mon get one vine farm for Baʹal-haʹmon.

Each person de bring one thousand pieces of silver for the fruit.
12 I get my own vine farm and I fit use-am do anything wey I want do.
The one thousand pieces of silver* na your own, O Solʹo·mon,
And the people wey de care for the fruit get two hundred.”
13 “O, you wey de stay for inside the gardens,
