16 Now Sar′ai wey be the wife of A′bram no born any pikin for-am, but e get one servant from Egypt wey im name na Ha′gar. 2 So Sar′ai tell A′bram say: “Abeg hear wetin I want talk! Jehovah never allow me to get children. Abeg, sleep with my servant. Maybe I fit get children from-am.” So A′bram listen to wetin Sar′ai talk. 3 After A′bram don live for ten years for the land of Ca′naan, Sar′ai wey be the wife of A′bram take Ha′gar im servant wey come from Egypt and give-am to A′bram im husband as im wife. 4 So e sleep with Ha′gar and Ha′gar get belle. When Ha′gar know say e don get belle, e start to treat im madam anyhow.
5 So Sar′ai tell A′bram say: “This suffer wey I de suffer na your fault. Na me give you my servant. But when e know say e don get belle, e start to treat me anyhow. Make Jehovah judge between me and you.” 6 So A′bram tell Sar′ai say: “See! Your servant dey under you. Do anything wey you think say good for your eye.” Then Sar′ai disgrace Ha′gar, and Ha′gar run comot from im house.
7 After, the angel of Jehovah meet-am for one place wey water de come out from ground for wilderness. This place dey the road wey them de pass go Shur. 8 And e talk say: “Ha′gar, servant of Sar′ai, where you de come from and where you de go?” So e talk say: “I de run from my madam Sar′ai.” 9 So the angel of Jehovah tell-am say: “Go back to your madam and put yourself under-am.” 10 Then the angel of Jehovah talk say: “I go make your children really plenty, and them go overplenty sotey person no go fit count them.” 11 The angel of Jehovah still talk say: “See you get belle, and you go born boy, and the name wey you go give-am na Ish′ma·el,* because Jehovah don hear the cry wey you de cry because of your suffer. 12 E go be man wey be like bush donkey.* E* go dey against everybody and everybody* go dey against-am. 13 Then Ha′gar call the name of Jehovah wey be de talk to-am say: “You be God wey de really see,” because e talk say: “I don really see the person wey de see me for here?” 14 Na because of this one them call the well Be′er-la′hai-roi.* (E dey between Ka′desh and Be′red.) 15 So Ha′gar born boy for A′bram, and the name wey A′bram give this im boy wey Ha′gar born, na Ish′ma·el. 16 A′bram dey 86 years when Ha′gar born Ish′ma·el for-am.
