When them come Jerusalem, 3 all the people wey gather come make agreement with the king for the house of the true God, after this one, e tell them say:
“See! The king son go rule, just as Jehovah don promise say na so e go be for the sons of David. 4 Na wetin una go do be this: The priests and the Levites wey go work for Sabbath day go divide theirself for three groups, one group go watch the doors; 5 the other group go dey for the king house,* and the third group go dey for the Gate of the Foundation, and all the people go dey for the compounds wey dey the house of Jehovah. 6 Make una no let anybody enter the house of Jehovah, apart from the priests and the Levites wey de do their work. This ones fit enter because them be holy people, and all the other people go follow wetin Jehovah talk. 7 The Levites must surround the king for every side, and each person go hold im weapon for hand. Anybody wey want enter the house, them must kill-am. Make una stay with the king anywhere wey e go.”*
8 The Levites and all Judah people do exactly wetin Je·hoi′a·da the priest command them. So each of them carry im men wey de work for Sabbath day plus the ones wey no de work for Sabbath day, because Je·hoi′a·da the priest never talk say make each of the group stop to work. 9 Then Je·hoi′a·da the priest give the spears, small shields,* and round shields of King David wey be dey the house of the true God to the people wey de control the groups of hundred-hundred soldiers. 10 Then e put all the people for their position, each one hold im weapon for hand, and them stand from the right side of the house go reach the left side of the house, near the altar and near the house, and them surround the king. 11 Then them bring the king son come out and put the crown and the Testimony* for im head and make-am king, and Je·hoi′a·da and im sons anoint-am. Then them talk say: “Make the king live long!”
12 When Ath·a·li′ah hear the sound of the people wey de run and de praise the king, quick-quick, e come meet the people for the house of Jehovah. 13 Then e see the king wey stand near the pillar for the place wey them de pass enter. The leaders and the people wey de blow trumpet dey with the king and all the people of the land de happy and de blow trumpet, and the people wey de sing with music instruments de lead* the people wey de sing the songs of praise. When Ath·a·li′ah see this one, e tear im cloths and shout say: “This na wicked plan! This na wicked plan!” 14 But Je·hoi′a·da the priest bring the people wey de control the groups of hundred-hundred soldiers come out, wey e choose to control the army, and e tell them say: “Make una carry-am comot from where the soldiers dey, and if anybody follow-am, make una use sword kill-am!” Because the priest be don talk say: “Make una no kill-am for the house of Jehovah.” 15 So them hold-am, and when e reach the place wey them de take enter the Horse Gate of the king house,* them kill-am for there quick-quick.
16 Then Je·hoi′a·da make agreement between imself and all the people and the king, say them go continue to be Jehovah people. 17 After that one, all the people come the house* of Ba′al and scatter-am, and them pieces im altars and im image them, and them kill Mat′tan wey be the priest of Ba′al for front of the altars. 18 Then Je·hoi′a·da put the work to take care of the house of Jehovah for the hand of the priests and the Levites wey David be don choose for different-different group to take care of the house of Jehovah, to do sacrifice of Jehovah wey them de burn according to wetin them write for the Law of Moses, and them de happy and de sing song, as David be* talk say make them do. 19 E still put the gatemen for the gate of the house of Jehovah, so that anybody wey no dey clean for any way no go fit enter. 20 Then e carry the people wey de control the groups of hundred-hundred soldiers, the important men, the rulers of the people, and all the people for the land, and them escort the king come down from the house of Jehovah. Then them use the upper gate come the king house* and the king sitdown for the throne of the kingdom. 21 So all the people of the land happy no be small and peace come dey the city because them don use sword kill Ath·a·li′ah.
