Exodus
12 Now Jehovah tell Moses and Aaron for the land of Egypt say: 2 “Na this month go be the start of the month for una. E go be the first month of the year for una. 3 Talk to all Israel people say, ‘For the tenth day of this month, make each of them take one sheep for their papa family, one sheep for each house. 4 But if the people for the family too small for the sheep, make them and their* neighbor wey near them pass share-am among theirself for their house according to the number of people.* When you de do the calculation, make you check the size wey each person go chop from the sheep. 5 Make una sheep dey well for body, and make e be male sheep wey be one year. Una fit choose from the young rams or from the goats. 6 Make una care for-am until the 14th day of this month, and all the people* of Israel must kill-am for evening.* 7 Make them take some of the blood and splash-am ontop the two frames of the door and the up part of the domot for the house them wey them go chop-am.
8 “‘Make them chop the meat this night. Make them roast-am ontop fire and chop-am together with the bread wey no get yeast and leaves wey bitter. 9 Make una no chop any of the meat if e dey raw or them boil-am, or them cook-am with water. Instead make una roast-am ontop fire, im head together with im legs,* and the parts inside-am. 10 Make una no keep any of-am reach morning. Instead, any of-am wey remain until morning, make una burn-am with fire. 11 And na like this una go chop-am, una go wear una belt,* wear una sandals for leg, and hold una stick for hand; and make una chop-am fast-fast. This one na Jehovah Passover. 12 And I go pass inside the land of Egypt this night and kill all the firstborn for the land of Egypt, from people go reach animals, and I go bring judgment for all the gods of Egypt. I be Jehovah. 13 The blood go be una sign for the house wey una dey, and I go see the blood and pass over una house, and the punishment no go come ontop una to destroy una when I go punish the land of Egypt.
14 “‘Una go de remember this day, and una must celebrate-am as festival to Jehovah for all una generation. This one na law wey go last for long time, make una celebrate-am. 15 Na seven days una go chop bread wey no get yeast. Yes, for the first day, una go remove the flour wey them mix with water and yeast from una house, because anybody wey de chop bread wey get yeast from the first day go reach the seventh day, them must kill* that person* comot from Israel. 16 For the first day, una go do holy convention, and for the seventh day, una go do another holy convention. Una no go do any work for this days. Na only wetin person* fit chop, una go need to prepare.
17 “‘Una must continue to do the Festival of Bread Wey No Get Yeast, because for this same day, I go bring una plenty people* come out from the land of Egypt. And una must remember this day for all una generation as law wey go last for long time. 18 For the first month, for the 14th day of the month for evening, una go chop bread wey no get yeast go reach the 21st day of the month for evening. 19 Make no flour wey them mix with water and yeast dey for una house for seven days, because if anybody chop bread wey get yeast, whether the person na stranger or na person from the land, them must kill* the person* comot from all Israel people. 20 Make una no chop anything wey get yeast. For all una house, na bread wey no get yeast una go chop.’”
21 Quick-quick, Moses call all the elders for Israel and tell them say: “Make una go select young animals* for each of una family, and kill the Passover sacrifice. 22 Then make una dip one bundle of hyssop plant inside the blood wey dey inside basin, and rub the blood for the up part of the domot, and the two door frames, and make any of una no comot go outside of im house until morning reach. 23 Then when Jehovah de pass through to punish Egypt people, and see the blood for the up part of the domot and for the two door frames, Jehovah go surely pass over the domot and e no go allow the punishment of death* to enter una house.
24 “Una must celebrate this occasion as law wey go last for una and for una sons. 25 When una enter the land wey Jehovah go give una just as e don talk, una must continue to do this celebration. 26 And when una children* ask una say, ‘Wetin this celebration mean to una?’ 27 Una must talk say, ‘Na the sacrifice of Passover to Jehovah, wey pass over all the house of Israel people for Egypt when e punish Egypt people, but e save the people for our house them.’”
Then the people bow down and lie down for ground. 28 So Israel people go and do just as Jehovah don command Moses and Aaron. Na so them just do-am.
29 Then for midnight, Jehovah kill every firstborn for the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Phar′aoh wey sitdown for throne, go reach the firstborn of the people wey them catch put for prison,* and all the firstborn of the animals. 30 Phar′aoh get up that night together with all im servants and all the other Egypt people, and serious cry dey among Egypt people, because person die for every house. 31 At once, e call Moses and Aaron for night and tell them say: “Get up, comot from my people, una with the other Israel people. Make una go serve Jehovah, just as una don talk. 32 Make una take una sheep, goats, and cows and go, just as una don talk. But una must still bless me.”
33 And Egypt people start to beg the people to comot quick-quick from the land “because,” as them talk, “all of us go die!” 34 So the people carry their flour wey them mix with water wey no get yeast, with their bowls wey them de use mix flour, wrap-am inside their cloth and put-am for their shoulder. 35 Israel people do wetin Moses tell them to do, and them tell Egypt people to give them things wey them use silver make, things wey them use gold make, and cloths too. 36 Jehovah make the people get favor for the eyes of Egypt people, so that them give them the things wey them ask for, and them collect plenty things from Egypt people.
37 Then Israel people comot from Ram′e·ses de go Suc′coth. Them dey about 600,000 men wey use leg de waka,* apart from children. 38 And big group of different-different people* still go with them, and them go with plenty sheep, goats, and cows, the animals plenty no be small. 39 Them start to bake the flour wey them mix with water wey them bring come from Egypt, and them use-am make round-round bread wey no get yeast. E no get yeast because them drive them quick-quick comot from Egypt, so them no get time to prepare anything for theirself.
40 Israel people wey live for Egypt stay there for 430 years. 41 For the end of the 430 years, for that same day, all the plenty people* wey be Jehovah own comot from the land of Egypt. 42 Na the night wey them go celebrate as Jehovah bring them come out from the land of Egypt. All the people of Israel go celebrate this night to honor Jehovah for all their generations.
43 Then Jehovah tell Moses and Aaron say, “This na the law wey una go de follow for the Passover: No stranger fit chop from-am. 44 But if person get man slave wey e buy with money, make e circumcise-am. Na only that time the slave go fit chop from-am. 45 Person from another place wey come de stay for the land, and person wey una hire make e come work for una no fit chop from-am. 46 People wey gather inside one house go chop-am inside the house. Make una no take any of the meat comot go outside of the house, and make una no break any of the bones. 47 All Israel people must do the celebration. 48 If stranger de live with una and e want celebrate the Passover to Jehovah, every man wey e get for im house must circumcise. Then e fit come near to celebrate-am and e go be like person wey come from the land. But no man wey no circumcise fit chop from-am. 49 Na one law the people of the land and the strangers wey de live among una go follow.”
50 So all Israel people do just as Jehovah don command Moses and Aaron. Na so them just do-am. 51 For this same day, Jehovah bring Israel people together with the plenty-plenty people* come out of the land of Egypt.
