The First of Kings

21 After this things don pass, something happen wey concern Na′both vine farm. Na′both na Jez′re·el person and the vine farm dey Jez′re·el near the palace of A′hab wey be king of Sa·mar′i·a. 2 A′hab tell Na′both say: “Give me your vine farm make I use-am as small vegetable farm, because e near my house. Then I go give you vine farm wey better pass that one to replace-am. Or if you want, I fit give you money wey reach-am.” 3 But Na′both tell A′hab say: “From the way Jehovah de see the matter, I no fit even think-am to give you the property wey I inherit from my papa-papa them.” 4 So A′hab come im house de feel bad, and e no happy at all, because of the answer wey Na′both wey be Jez′re·el person give-am when e talk say: “I no go give you the property wey I inherit from my papa-papa them.” Then e lie down ontop im bed, face wall, and e no gree chop.

5 Im wife Jez′e·bel come inside come meet-am and ask-am say: “Why you* no happy at all sotey you no gree chop?” 6 E answer-am say: “Na because I tell Na′both wey be Jez′re·el person say, ‘Sell your vine farm for me. Or if you want, make I give you another vine farm to replace-am.’ But e talk say, ‘I no go give you my vine farm.’” 7 Im wife Jez′e·bel tell-am say: “No be you be king wey de rule Israel? Stand up, chop something and make you happy. I go give you the vine farm of Na′both wey be Jez′re·el person.” 8 So e use A′hab name write letters and use A′hab seal stamp-am, then e send the letters go give the elders and the big-big men wey de stay for the city wey Na′both de stay. 9 E write for the letter say: “Make una announce say make the people fast, then make una gather them together and talk say make Na′both sitdown for their front. 10 And make una tell two useless men say make them sitdown for im front and talk against-am say, ‘You don curse God and the king!’ Then make una bring-am come out and stone-am until e die.”

11 So the men for im city, wey be, the elders and the big-big men wey de stay for im city, do exactly wetin them write for the letters wey Jez′e·bel send go give them. 12 Them announce say make the people fast, then, them gather them together and talk say make Na′both sitdown for front of the people. 13 Then two among the useless men come inside and sitdown for front of Na′both and start to talk against-am for front of the people say: “Na′both don curse God and the king!” Then, them carry-am come outside the city and stone-am until e die. 14 Them come send message to Jez′e·bel say: “Them don stone Na′both and e don die.”

15 As Jez′e·bel just hear say them don stone Na′both and e don die, e tell A′hab say: “Stand up, make you collect the vine farm of Na′both wey be Jez′re·el person wey e no gree sell for you, because Na′both no dey alive again. E don die.” 16 As A′hab just hear say Na′both don die, e just stand up, go down to the vine farm of Na′both wey be Jez′re·el person so that e go take-am as im own.

17 But E·li′jah wey be Tish′beh person come hear message from Jehovah say: 18 “Stand up, go down go Sa·mar′i·a, go meet A′hab the king of Israel. E dey there for the vine farm of Na′both, to collect-am as im own. 19 You must tell-am say, ‘This na wetin Jehovah talk: “So you don kill person and still take im property, no be so?”’ Then tell-am say, ‘This na wetin Jehovah talk: “For the place wey the dogs lick the blood of Na′both, na for there the dogs go lick your own blood too.”’”

20 A′hab tell E·li′jah say: “O my enemy, so you don catch me!” E answer-am say: “I don catch you. ‘Because you don decide for your heart* to de do wetin bad for Jehovah eyes, 21 I go punish you with problems, and I go sweep you and your children comot and destroy every man* for A′hab family, even the ones for Israel wey no fit help theirself and wey dey weak. 22 And I go make your family* be like the family of Jer·o·bo′am the son of Ne′bat and like the family of Ba′a·sha the son of A·hi′jah, because you don make me vex and you don make Israel sin.’ 23 Jehovah don still talk about Jez′e·bel say: ‘The dogs go chop Jez′e·bel for the plot of land wey dey for Jez′re·el. 24 Anybody from A′hab family wey die for the city, dogs go chop-am, and anybody wey die for bush, birds wey de fly for up go chop-am. 25 True-true, e no get any other person wey be like A′hab, wey don decide for im heart* to de do wetin bad for Jehovah eyes, as im wife Jez′e·bel de push-am. 26 Na im don do serious bad things pass as e de follow the rubbish idols* just like all the Am′or·ite people be don do, people wey Jehovah pursue comot for front of Israel people.’”

27 As A′hab just hear this words, e tear im cloths and wear sackcloth, e come start to fast, and continue to lie down with sackcloth wey e wear and de waka like person wey life don tire. 28 E·li′jah wey be Tish′beh person come hear Jehovah message say: 29 “You don see how A′hab humble imself because of me? Because e don bring body down for me, I no go make-am face the problem when e still dey alive. I go make the problems come for im family* for the time of im son.”
