The Second Book of Chronicles
12 As the kingdom of Re·ho·bo′am just stand well and e don get power, e stop to obey the Law of Jehovah, and na so all Israel people join-am too. 2 For the fifth year of King Re·ho·bo′am, King Shi′shak of Egypt come fight against Jerusalem because them don sin against Jehovah. 3 E get 1,200 chariots, 60,000 men wey de ride horse, and plenty-plenty soldiers wey come with-am from Egypt, them be—Lib′y·a people, Suk′ki·im people, and E·thi·o′pi·a people. 4 E take over the cities of Judah wey get strong protection and at last, e reach Jerusalem.
5 She·mai′ah wey be prophet come meet Re·ho·bo′am and the leaders for Judah wey gather for Jerusalem because of Shi′shak, and e tell them say: “This na wetin Jehovah talk, ‘Una don leave me, so I don leave una for the hand of Shi′shak.’” 6 So the leaders of Israel and the king bring their body down and talk say: “Jehovah dey righteous.” 7 When Jehovah see say them don bring their body down, Jehovah come tell She·mai′ah say: “Them don bring their body down. I no go destroy them, and after small time, I go save them. I no go use Shi′shak pour my vex ontop Jerusalem. 8 But them go be im servants, so that them go know say difference dey to serve me and to serve the kings* of other lands.”
9 So King Shi′shak of Egypt come fight against Jerusalem. E take the better-better things wey dey Jehovah house and the better-better things wey dey the king house.* E take everything, even all the good shields wey Sol′o·mon make. 10 So King Re·ho·bo′am make copper shields to replace them, and e put them for the hand of the people wey de control the guards,* wey de protect the place wey them take de enter the king house. 11 Anytime wey the king come the house of Jehovah, the guards go follow-am enter and them go carry the shields, after, them go carry them go back to the house of the guards. 12 Because the king bring im body down, Jehovah stop to vex for-am, and e no destroy them finish. Apart from that one, e get some good things wey e see for Judah.
13 King Re·ho·bo′am make im position for Jerusalem strong and e continue to rule as king; Re·ho·bo′am dey 41 years when e start to rule as king, and e rule for 17 years for Jerusalem, the city wey Jehovah don choose out of all the tribes for Israel as the place wey e put im name. The name of the king mama na Na′a·mah wey be Am′mon person. 14 But e do wetin bad, because e no decide from im heart say e go find Jehovah.
15 As for the story about Re·ho·bo′am, from the start go reach the end, them no write-am among the things wey She·mai′ah the prophet and Id′do the person wey de see vision write for place wey them de write the list of names? And na everytime Re·ho·bo′am and Jer·o·bo′am de fight wars. 16 Then Re·ho·bo′am die like im papa-papa them, and them bury-am for the City of David, and im son A·bi′jah start to rule as king after-am.
