5 Make you dey careful about wetin you de do anytime wey you go the house of the true God. E better to come near to listen than to do sacrifice the way stupid people de do, because them no know say wetin them de do na bad thing.

2 Make you no de quick open your mouth to talk, and make you no rush to talk wetin dey your heart for front of the true God, because the true God dey the heavens, but you dey earth. Na im make the things wey you de talk no suppose plenty. 3 Person de dream because the things wey full im head too plenty,* and when stupid person de talk too much, e de talk wetin no make sense. 4 Anytime wey you make promise to God, make you no delay to pay-am, because stupid people no de make God happy. Wetin you don promise, pay-am. 5 E better say you no make promise than say you promise and you no pay. 6 No allow your mouth to make you* sin, and no talk for front of the angel* say na mistake. Why you want make the true God vex because of wetin you talk, sotey you make God spoil the work wey you use your hand do? 7 Because just as the plenty things wey full person head de make-am dream, na so too, the plenty things wey person talk de bring useless things. But make you fear the true God.

8 If you see anything wey somebody de do to suffer poor person, and you see person wey no de judge well and wey no de do the correct thing for your area, make this matter no surprise you. Because person wey high pass that person wey get high position de watch-am, and other people dey wey still high pass them.

9 Another thing be say, all of them de divide the gain wey them de get from the land; even the king de get things from the land.

10 Silver no go ever dey enough for person wey love silver, and person wey love property no go ever dey okay with wetin de enter im pocket. This one dey useless too.

11 When good things increase, na so people wey de chop them de increase. And which gain dey for the person wey get the things, apart from say e go de look them with im eye?

12 The sleep of person wey de serve de sweet, whether e chop small or plenty, but the plenty things wey rich person get no de allow-am to sleep.

13 E get one big problem* wey I don see under the sun: plenty money and property wey person keep and no de use, don cause problem for-am. 14 E lose the money and property wey e get because e put-am for something* wey no succeed, and when e don become papa to one son, e no get any property wey e go leave for the son.

15 Just as person dey naked when e come out from im mama belle, na so the person go go, just as e come out. And e no go fit carry anything go for all the hard work wey e don do.

16 This one too na big problem:* Just as the person come, na so e go still go; and which gain dey for the person wey continue to work hard for something wey de blow go like breeze? 17 And everyday when e de chop, e no de happy,* e de overtire for life and de sick and de vex.

18 This one na wetin I don see wey dey good and correct: say make person chop and drink and enjoy all the hard work wey e de suffer to do under the sun, for the short life* wey the true God don give-am, because that one na im reward.* 19 Another thing be say, when the true God give person money and property together with the power wey e go use enjoy them, make e collect im reward* and de happy for im hard work. This one na gift from God. 20 True-true, e no go even notice* say the days of im life de pass, because the true God don make-am dey busy with joy for im heart.
