The Second of Kings
20 That time, Hez·e·ki′ah come de sick sotey the sickness want kill-am. Then prophet Isaiah wey be the son of A′moz come, and tell-am say, “This na wetin Jehovah talk: ‘Tell your family people wetin them go do, because you go die, you no go well.’” 2 As e hear this one, e turn face wall and start to pray to Jehovah say: 3 “I de beg you, O Jehovah, abeg remember how I don serve you well and do-am with all my heart, and I don do wetin good for your eye.” Hez·e·ki′ah come start to cry sotey e no fit control imself.
4 Isaiah never even reach the compound wey dey middle when Jehovah tell-am say: 5 “Go back go tell Hez·e·ki′ah, the leader of my people say, ‘This na wetin Jehovah the God of David your papa-papa talk: “I don hear your prayer. I don see your tears. See, I de heal you. For the third day you go go up to the house of Jehovah. 6 I go add 15 years to your life,* and I go save you and this city from the hand of the king of As·syr′i·a, and I go defend this city because of my name, and because of David my servant.”’”
7 Then Isaiah talk say: “Make una bring cake wey them make with dry figs.”* So them bring-am and use-am rub the boil, small-small e come well.
8 Hez·e·ki′ah be don ask Isaiah say: “Wetin be the sign wey show say Jehovah go heal me and say I go go up to the house of Jehovah for the third day?” 9 Isaiah answer-am say: “This na the sign from Jehovah to show you say Jehovah go do wetin e don talk: You want make the shadow wey dey ontop the step* move ten steps go front or move ten steps go back?” 10 Hez·e·ki′ah talk say: “E dey easy for the shadow to go front ten steps, but no be to go back ten steps.” 11 So prophet Isaiah pray to Jehovah and E make the shadow wey dey ontop the step of A′haz go back ten steps after e don already go down for the steps.
12 That time, the king of Babylon, Be·ro′dach-bal′a·dan wey be the son of Bal′a·dan, send letters and gift go give Hez·e·ki′ah because e hear say Hez·e·ki′ah be de sick. 13 Hez·e·ki′ah welcome* them and show them everything wey dey the house wey e de keep better-better things—the silver, the gold, the balsam oil, and other better oil, the things wey e de use fight war, and everything wey them fit see for the place wey e de keep im better-better things. E no get anything wey Hez·e·ki′ah no show them for im own house* and for im whole kingdom.
14 After this one, prophet Isaiah come meet King Hez·e·ki′ah and ask-am say: “Wetin this men talk, and where them come from?” So Hez·e·ki′ah talk say: “Them come from one far place, from Babylon.” 15 Then e ask-am say: “Wetin them see for your house?”* Hez·e·ki′ah answer-am say: “Them see everything for my house.* E no get anything wey I no show them for the place wey I de keep my better-better things.”
16 Isaiah come tell Hez·e·ki′ah say: “Make you hear the word of Jehovah, 17 ‘See! Time de come wey them go carry everything wey dey your house,* and everything wey your papa-papa them don keep come reach today, go Babylon. Nothing go remain,’ na so Jehovah talk. 18 ‘And them go carry some of your own sons wey you go born go, and them go come be people wey get high position for the palace of the king of Babylon.’”
19 So Hez·e·ki′ah tell Isaiah say: “The word of Jehovah wey you don tell me so, good.” Then e still talk say: “E dey good if peace go dey and trouble no go dey* for my own time.”*
20 As for the other story about Hez·e·ki′ah, how e get power reach, and how e make the pool and dig the place wey water go de pass and use-am bring water enter inside the city, them no write-am for the book wey talk about the things wey happen for the time of Judah kings? 21 Then Hez·e·ki′ah die like im papa-papa them; and im son Ma·nas′seh start to rule as king after-am.
