Obadiah

“We don hear one report from Jehovah,

E don send one messenger go the nations:

 2 “See! I don make you really small among the nations;

Them hate you no be small.

 3 Your heart wey de make you do pass yourself don deceive you,

You wey de stay for the safe places wey dey inside rock,

Wey de stay for place wey dey high, and de talk for inside your heart say,

‘Who go fit bring me come down reach ground?’

 4 Even if you make the place wey you de stay high like eagle own,*

Or if you put your house* for where the stars dey,

I go bring you come down from there,” na so Jehovah talk.

 5 “If thieves come meet you, if them come thief for night,

(Them go really destroy you finish!)*

Or if na people wey de gather grapes come meet you,

Them no go leave some of the things wey remain as them de harvest?

People wey de chop bread with you go put net under you,

But you no go even know.”

 8 Jehovah talk say, “That day,

I go destroy the people wey get sense comot from Eʹdom

And destroy the people wey get deep sense from the area of Eʹsau wey mountains dey.

 9 And your soldiers go fear no be small, O Teʹman,

Because them go destroy each of them for the area of Eʹsau wey mountains dey.

10 Because of the way you attack your brother Jacob,

Shame go cover you,

And you go die forever.

11 For the day wey you stand for one side and you no do anything,

For the day wey strangers carry im army go as slaves,

When people from another land enter im gate and cast lots ontop Jerusalem,

You be do like one of them.

12 You no suppose laugh your brother for the day wey bad thing happen to-am,

You no suppose de happy for the day wey them destroy Judah people,

And you no suppose de carry body up and de talk anyhow for the day wey them de suffer.

13 You no suppose come enter the gate of my people for the day wey them enter serious problem,

You no suppose laugh because of im trouble for the day wey e enter serious problem,

And you no suppose put your hand for im property for the day wey e enter serious problem.

14 Make you no stand for the roads wey cross each other to kill im people wey escape,

And make you no put im people wey survive for the hand of their enemies for the day wey them de suffer.

16 Just as you be de drink ontop my holy mountain,

Na so all the nations go always continue to drink.

Them go drink and swallow-am,

And them go dey like say them never ever dey before.

17 But the people wey escape go dey for Mount Zion,

And e go dey holy;

And the house of Jacob go collect the things wey be their own.

18 The house of Jacob go be fire,

The house of Joseph go be fire wey de burn,

And the house of Eʹsau go be like grass;

Them go set fire ontop them and burn them finish,

And nobody for the house of Eʹsau go survive,

Because na Jehovah use im mouth talk-am.

19 Them go take Negʹeb as their own and the area of Eʹsau wey mountains dey,

Them go take She·pheʹlah and the land of Phi·lisʹti·a people.

Them go take the area of Eʹphra·im as their own and the area of Sa·marʹi·a,

And Benjamin go take Gilʹe·ad as im own.

20 The people wey them carry go as slaves from this place wey get protection around-am,*

The people of Israel, na them go get the land of Caʹnaan people go reach Zarʹe·phath.

21 And the ones wey save the people go go up for Mount Zion

To judge the area of Eʹsau wey mountains dey,

And Jehovah go rule as king.”
