One Jehovah Witness man de give burial talk

Jehovah Witness People De Do Burial?

We de do burial but we de follow wetin Bible teach for matter wey concern burial. See some important point about this matter:

  • Na normal thing to cry and feel pain when person wey we love die. Jesus disciples cry when person wey them love die. (John 11:33-35, 38; Acts 8:2; 9:39) So we no de see burial as time to do party and play loud music. (Ecclesiastes 3:1, 4; 7:1-4) Instead, we de see-am as time to show say we care and de feel for people wey their person die.—Romans 12:15.

  • People wey don die no know anything again. No matter our culture or where we come from, we no de put hand for things wey people for our area de do and things wey them believe wey Bible condemn. Like to believe say people wey don die still de live somewhere and say them still get hand for our life. (Ecclesiastes 9:5, 6, 10) Some of this things wey people de do na: wake keeping, to spend plenty money for burial party, to do party to remember person wey don die, to do sacrifice for person wey don die, to talk to person wey don die, and things wey them believe say the husband or wife of person wey don die must do. We no de put hand for all this things because of wetin Bible talk, e say: “Separate unaself from them, and stop to touch the thing wey no clean.”—2 Corinthians 6:17.

  • Hope dey for people wey don die. Bible de teach say people wey don die go come back to life and say time de come when death no go dey again. (Acts 24:15; Revelation 21:4) This hope de help us make we no de cry and feel like say we no go see our person wey don die again, this hope still help Christians for apostle time.—1 Thessalonians 4:13.

  • Bible advice say make we no do pass ourself. (Proverbs 11:2) We no de see burial as chance “to de show the things wey we get,” so that people go know say we get money. (1 John 2:16) We no de do party for burial make people for enjoy theirself, or de use big money do coffin wey cost well-well. And when we de go burial, we no de dress for way wey go make people put eye for our body.

  • We no de force other people to follow wetin we believe for burial matter. For this matter, we de follow Bible advice wey talk say: “Each of us go answer God for wetin we do.” (Romans 14:12) But, if we get chance to explain wetin we believe, we go “do-am with cool mind and deep respect.”—1 Peter 3:15.

How Jehovah Witness people burial de be?

Place wey people fit gather: If the family decide say them go give burial talk, them go do this one for the place wey the family choose, like for Kingdom Hall, for mortuary hall, for house, or near the grave.

Things wey them go do: Them go give burial talk to encourage the people wey their person die and explain wetin Bible talk about death, and the hope wey we get say people wey don die go come back to life. (John 11:25; Romans 5:12; 2 Peter 3:13) The burial program fit help people remember the better-better character wey the person wey don die get, and still help them remember important things wey them fit learn from the person example as e serve God well.—2 Samuel 1:17-27.

Who fit attend: Like other meeting wey we de do for Kingdom Hall, anybody fit come listen to burial talk for Kingdom Hall, even if the person no be Jehovah Witness.

Jehovah Witness people de attend burial wey other religion de do?

Na each person go use im conscience wey e don use Bible train to make that decision. (1 Timothy 1:19) But, we no de put hand for things wey other religion de do wey no agree with wetin Bible de teach.—2 Corinthians 6:14-17.
